The website of the Office of the President has been designed in compliance with general principles of accessible design:
1. Every page on the site can be navigated via the keyboard, without any need for a mouse.
2. The website features accesskeys (:::) that visitors can use to jump to the main sections of the site.
3. All images on the website are tagged with descriptive text.
4. Descriptive text pops up whenever the user hovers the cursor over a link, so that the user can see what links lead to without actually clicking into them.
Navigation links in this website are grouped into three major blocks:
1. Top block.
2. Main content.
3. Bottom block.
The accesskeys, also known as shortcut keys, are defined as follows:
1. Alt+U: Top block.
2. Alt+C: Main content.
3. Alt+B: Bottom block.
I know that even now, there are some around us who see no need to apologize. But that is the most important reason why I am representing the government to issue this apology today.
To see what was unfair in the past as a matter of course, or to treat the pain of other ethnic peoples as an unavoidable part of human development, this is the first mindset that we, standing here today, resolve to change and overturn.
The success of one ethnic people can be built on the suffering of another. Unless we deny that we are a country of justice, we must face up to this history. We must tell the truth. And then, most importantly, the government must genuinely reflect on this past. This is why I stand here today.
